The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Briefs.

Briefs fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage.
Briefs lands an uppercut.
Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Briefs fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Briefs feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Joness jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Briefs lands a left and a right that send Jones crashing to the mat, dazed. Briefs thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Jones is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Briefs fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jones to the ground. Briefs is now in Jones's guard.
Jones is still in real trouble! Can Briefs finish him?
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Briefs throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Jones is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Briefs rolls with it to try and escape but Jones cranks on the arm and Briefs is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
