Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vin Brock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kubla Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Brock manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Brock counters with a head kick. That will keep Khan thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Brock counters with a crisp one two that drops Khan! Brock thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Khan to his feet! Khan is in big trouble!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Brock moves into the clinch.
Brock lands an elbow inside.

Brock lands a takedown into guard.
Brock throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Khan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brock defends well.

Brock slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Brock has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Brock moves into the clinch successfully.
Brock has Khan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Khan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Brock pushes Khan up against the cage in a clinch.

Khan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Brock walks away with a smile on his face. Khan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Brock lands a head kick. Khan smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Kubla Khan has been cut.

Brock throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Khan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Brock is in Khan's guard.

Brock stands up from guard. Let's bang!

and Brock counters with an inside leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brock avoids the head kick by Khan.
Khan shoots in and drives through. Brock sprawls well.

Brock fails with a takedown attempt.

Brock has taken the fight to the clinch.

Brock jumps guard and drags Khan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Brock wants to sweep here but Khan controlling him for the moment.
Khan looking to sit in guard and control but Brock gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Brock got a little sloppy there for a moment and Khan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brock has managed to get both his arms back between Khan's legs - danger averted.

Vin Brock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kubla Khan.

Brock has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Khan uses from the top position.

Brock has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Khan is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Khan wants to take the fight to the mat but Brock manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Brock is pressed up against the cage. Khan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Brock down to the mat. Brock avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Brock shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Brock is trying to control the action in half guard but Khan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Brock is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Brock is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Khan is aware though and is defending well.

Khan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Khan wants to get up but he can't break Brock's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Khan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Khan tries to clinch up but Brock circles away and keeps his distance.

Khan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Brock defends well and Khan ends up having to push Brock into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Khan distracts Brock with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vin Brock.
Well Brock has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
