Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jussi Juntta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Shebanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shebanov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Don't worry, be happy kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jussi Juntta has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roman Shebanov!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Juntta works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Shebanov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shebanov tries to land a leg kick but Juntta saw it coming and moves away.

Juntta shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Juntta looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Juntta throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Shebanov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Juntta. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Juntta is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shebanov is just riding it out for now. Juntta eventually gives up the hold.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shebanov fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Juntta looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Shebanov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
