Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Malik Atkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Nakai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakai with a lazy takedown attempt
and Atkins counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Atkins.
Atkins tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nakai smiles and moves away.
Nakai closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Atkins jumps guard but Nakai stands there with Atkins around his waist. Atkins gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Atkins has Nakai pressed against the cage, preventing Nakai from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Nakai drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kenji Nakai hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Atkins counters with a shoot takedown. Nakai fights it but they end up in guard.

Let's hope that Nakai has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kenji Nakai.

Atkins jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nakai walks away with a smile on his face. Atkins gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kenji Nakai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kenji Nakai comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nakai has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
