Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Barton David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrey Koreskov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koreskov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Небо Славян kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Barton David has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrey Koreskov!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

David sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Koreskov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Koreskov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

David bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Koreskov's guard.
David is fighting to break Koreskov's control of his arms but Koreskov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

David seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

David is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Koreskov to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Koreskov shrugs it off.
David lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
David wants to stand but Koreskov is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
David lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

David wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Koreskov is now in half guard.
Koreskov seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
David is trying to control but can't.
David wants to get back to his feet.
David is trying to maintain the position but Koreskov is very close to passing his half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Koreskov perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Koreskov throws a body punch but David moves out of range.
Koreskov wants to clinch up but David keeps it at a distance.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Barton David.
I think Koreskov has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
