PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Atticus Finch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colton Reyes Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Reyes Jr's choice of entrance music: pain. Colton Reyes Jr is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Colton Reyes Jr!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finch swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Reyes Jr throws a nice looking combination but Finch bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Reyes Jr misses with the combination.
Reyes Jr fails to land with a series of punches.

Reyes Jr rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Finch moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Finch shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Finch was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Finch has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Finch takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Reyes Jr is wriggling around trying to escape.

Finch's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Reyes Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Finch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Finch looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Reyes Jr tries to lock up and control but Finch gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Finch is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Reyes Jr is defending well though. Finch let's go of the attempt for now.

You can see the frustration on Reyes Jr's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Finch has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Reyes Jr's body.
