Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Hewson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Beurling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hewson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Vertigo. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hewson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Beurling swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Beurling pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hewson staying out of range there.
Some wild striking there from Beurling.
Hewson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Beurling as he jumps to the side.

Hewson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Beurling is not content to let Hewson control the position.
Beurling regains half guard.
Beurling is not content to let Hewson control the position.

Hewson seems to be looking for submissions.
Hewson stops Beurling from getting back to his feet.
Beurling won't allow Hewson to pass to mount.
Beurling wants to control but Hewson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Beurling wants to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Nice takedown defense from Beurling. No joy for Hewson on that attempt.
Beurling with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Beurling changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hewson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hewson can't do much from the bottom here.
Hewson is breathing heavily.
Hewson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Beurling is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Beurling is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hewson's shoulder. That is not cool.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Beurling stands up.
Hewson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hewson there as he acknowledges the shot.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Hewson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Beurling throws a pinpoint strike between Hewson's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Hewson crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Beurling scores a great knockout victory!
