Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Pushkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikola Vidojkovic!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pushkin tries to clinch but Vidojkovic moves away
and Vidojkovic counters with a nice low kick that buckles Pushkin's knee momentarily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pushkin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Pushkin clinches up with Vidojkovic and pushes him back against the cage.
Vidojkovic is trying to drag Pushkin to the mat but Pushkin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
The referee calls for Vidojkovic to work.

Pushkin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vidojkovic feints a jab promting Pushkin to slip. Vidojkovic then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Pushkin slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Pushkin is trying to drag Vidojkovic to the mat but Vidojkovic just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Vidojkovic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pushkin is just content to waste time from the top position. Vidojkovic takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Pushkin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pushkin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
