The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Ashton.

Ashton scores with a takedown into Burch's guard.
Ashton slips nicely into half guard.
Ashton is trying to control the action in half guard but Burch is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Ashton slips a nice elbow through Burch's hands, connecting with Burch's forehead.
Ashton is looking to take a break and control but Burch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burch tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Ashton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Burch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ashton tries to stand but can't do so whilst Burch controls his leg.

Burch moves into full guard.

Ashton wants to control from the top but Burch keeps moving.

Ben Ashton has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Ashton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Burch, pushing him back against the cage.

Ashton lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Ashton stalling away here and it's allowed Burch to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Burch really is a fat lump.
Ashton trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Burch is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ashton defends well.

Ashton wants to pass the guard but Burch is keeping the position.

Ashton decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Burch, up you get!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
