The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Ortega throws a leg kick but Chan sees it coming and moves out of range.

Chan throws a good cross that connects.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Ortega tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Chan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The referee asks Chan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Chan prefers to stall for the moment though.

Ortega is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
