With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darrell Smyth!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smyth looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bradford is doing well to control the position and prevent Smyth from advancing to side control.
Smyth prevents Bradford from standing back up.
Bradford tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Smyth has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Bradford is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Bradford wants to control but Smyth is having none of it.
Bradford really wants to buck Smyth off and get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smyth controlling the pace for now.
Bradford keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bradford is squirming around, avoiding Smyth's attempts to control the action.

Bradford wants to hold on but Smyth pushes him away.

Bradford reaches up and holds on to Smyth to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bradford holds on to Smyth as tight as he can, avoiding damage.
Smyth tries to control but Bradford wriggling away.

Smyth avoids the attempt from Bradford to control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bradford wants to control but Smyth is having none of it.

A close round but Darrell Smyth will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Smyth throws a head kick that misses.
Bradford walks into a straight right hand from Smyth.
Smyth lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Smyth takes a swing at Bradford's ribcage but misses.
Smyth looks to score with a jab to the body but Bradford is just out of range.
Smyth slaps away a takedown attempt from Bradford, before circling back to the center of the mat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bradford enables Smyth to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bradford manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bradford wants to stand and escape but Smyth is having none of it.
Smyth is fighting to break Bradford's control of his arms but Bradford is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Smyth trying to control but Bradford is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bradford takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Smyth throws a solid leg kick but Bradford takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Smyth.
Smyth throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Bradford counters with a takedown into side control.

Bradford stands up and beckons Smyth to his feet.
Smyth changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Nice cross by Smyth.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Smyth feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bradford is pulling down on Smyth's head. It's preventing any offense from Smyth, at least for the moment.
Bradford is trying to control the position but Smyth postures up.
Bradford is controlling Smyth's posture.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bradford wants to sweep here but Smyth controlling him for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Stewart Bradford.
Smyth throws a wild body kick that Bradford sees coming a mile off.

Smyth darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Bradford has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smyth is working away from the top position though.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bradford is trying to stand back up but Smyth is controlling him
Smyth slows the pace down in half guard.
Smyth has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bradford regains half guard.
Bradford is trying to stand.
Bradford is looking to control Smyth's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bradford avoid being mounted?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smyth perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Darrell Smyth will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


A shot to the liver by Smyth. Beautiful body shot.

Smyth shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bradford manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bradford working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smyth doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Bradford is tightening it up a little... Smyth has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Smyth reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Smyth taps out! Nice BJJ there by Bradford!
