Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmidt has chosen cult of personality as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy defending well as Schmidt loads up on a big left hand.
Hardy moves out of range of the strikes.
Schmidt throws out a powerful jab.
A punch lands to the side of Hardy 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Schmidt misses with a double jab
enabling Hardy to counter with a crisp jab.
Schmidt uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hardy has time to react.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Hardy counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hardy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schmidt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hardy trying to control the position from guard on top but Schmidt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hardy drops back looking for a leg! Schmidt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Schmidt manages to kick Hardy off! Hardy jumps back into Schmidt's guard.
Hardy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hardy slips nicely into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Schmidt has his hands clasped together around Hardy's back. He's all about the action.
Hardy is looking to take a break and control but Schmidt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hardy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Schmidt's head.

Hardy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Schmidt sees it coming and defends easily.

Hardy is looking for a kimura here.
Schmidt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hardy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hardy is looking for a kimura but Schmidt is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hardy to get the leverage.
Hardy uses his free foot to push down on Schmidt's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Schmidt.

Hardy is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Hardy extends the arm and Schmidt is forced to tap!
