Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Barroso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joao Barroso will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barroso throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stone was covering up waiting for the punch and Barroso finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Barroso's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stone manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barroso manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Stone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Barroso is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Barroso goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Stone has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Barroso but great work by Stone.

Barroso darts in and clinches Stone up against the cage.
Stone jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barroso walks away with a smile on his face. Stone gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Stone enables Barroso to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stone manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Well Barroso has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
