Ponomarenko moves to clinch but Gudkov breaks away

and Gudkov counters with a single leg into guard. Ponomarenko didn't expect that.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Gudkov pushes down on Ponomarenko's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Gudkov content to control rather than advance.

Gudkov wants to work for an arm triangle but Ponomarenko is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gudkov is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Gudkov is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Gudkov extends the arm and Ponomarenko is forced to tap!
