Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lawrence Alvarado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Royce Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lawrence Alvarado!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie drives through with a takedown into Alvarado's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Gracie looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Alvarado is looking for a triangle but Gracie pushes his legs off easily.
Alvarado looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Alvarado looking for a guillotine here but Gracie defends easily.
Gracie has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Alvarado is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Alvarado bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gracie's guard.

Alvarado is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Alvarado thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Alvarado has gone for a leg lock! Gracie slips out almost immediately though and dives into Alvarado's guard.

Gracie wants to stand but Alvarado is controlling his posture from full guard.

Alvarado escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gracie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Alvarado wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position.

Alvarado is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well.

Alvarado is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Gracie rolls with it to try and escape but Alvarado cranks on the arm and Gracie is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
