Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between DeAndre Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Russell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Russell counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Russell rushes Smith and presses him up against the cage.
Smith drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Smith successfully pulls guard.

Smith has his foot on Russell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Russell works his way back into a safe position though.

Smith manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Russell fails in his attempt to clinch.
Russell throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Russell tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Russell to the ground. Russell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for DeAndre Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Russell dodges the ground and pound from Smith.

Russell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
