Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Dance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dance's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Motorhead - The Game. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Dance!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Barnett!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett misses with a combination
and Dance counters with a three punch combo that has Barnett backing up. Barnett nods at Dance to acknowledge the strikes.

Barnett tries to keep at a distance but Dance has taken the fight into the clinch.

Dance wants the takedown. Barnett is fighting it off but Dance persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Barnett's guard against the cage.
Barnett looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dance is one step ahead there.
Barnett wants to stand and escape but Dance is having none of it.
Dance trying to control but Barnett is working from the bottom.
Barnett looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dance is one step ahead there.
Barnett not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dance trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Barnett controlling Dance's posture.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Barnett misses with a low kick.

Barnett closes the distance and clinches.
Barnett jumps guard but Dance turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Barnett gets underhooks to prevent Dance's takedown attempt.
A left hand lands to the body for Dance.
Dance is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Dance stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Dance wants the takedown. Barnett is fighting it off but Dance persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Barnett's guard against the cage.
Dance works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Dance stops Barnett from getting back to his feet.
Barnett is refusing to be controlled, as Dance sits in half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Barnett is trying to stand back up but Dance is controlling him
Barnett is trying to maintain the position but Dance is very close to passing his half guard.
Dance wants to control but Barnett is keeping him busy.
Barnett won't allow Dance to pass to mount.
Dance tries to stand but can't do so whilst Barnett controls his leg.
Barnett is not content to let Dance control the position.

Barnett tries to get to full guard but Dance has control of the leg.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dave Dance.
Dance misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Barnett looking to score a takedown here. Dance is defending well but Barnett drives through and ends up in Dance's guard.
Dance is looking to stand up but Barnett isn't so interested in that idea.

Barnett gets to his feet. Dance looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Barnett throws a half hearted mid kick.

Dance drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Dance trying to control the position from guard on top but Barnett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Barnett will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dance wants to get up but he can't break Barnett's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Dance is fighting to break Barnett's control of his arms but Barnett is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Barnett shoots in looking for a takedown but Dance manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Barnett's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dance is looking to take a break and control but Barnett is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee asks Dance politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Dance prefers to stall for the moment though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Barnett might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dance haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Dance throws a series of strikes that have Barnett backpedaling.


It looks like Mark Barnett has been cut.
Dance blocks a head kick by Barnett.

Barnett looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Dave Dance has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Barnett.
Dance shoots in for a double leg but Barnett sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dance moves away from the strike by Barnett.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dance works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Dance darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Barnett has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dance is working away from the top position though.
Barnett moves into full guard.
Barnett is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dance is controlling him.
Barnett is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dance has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Barnett is proving hard to escape from.
Dance not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dave Dance wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Barnett shoots in and gets a takedown into Dance's guard.
Barnett trying to control but Dance is working from the bottom.
Dance working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Barnett.
Barnett trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Dance manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Dance controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dance looking to sit in guard and control but Barnett gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Barnett prevents Dance from getting back to his feet.
Barnett throws a big elbow that misses.

Barnett decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dance, up you get!

Barnett gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Dance escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dance lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dance.
Dance fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barnett avoids it really well and circles away.

Barnett rushes Dance and presses him up against the cage.
Dance misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Barnett is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dance pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Dance has hold of one of Barnett's legs. Barnett is fighting the takedown attempt but Dance gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Barnett pulls Dance in close to prevent any damage.
Barnett working a defensive guard but Dance passes into half guard.
Dance is looking to advance position but Barnett won't allow it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dance stops Barnett from getting back to his feet.
Dance seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Barnett tries to roll over but Dance keeps him under control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dance wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barnett keeps working.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Mark Barnett.
Well Dance has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Dave Dance was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
