The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rawhiti throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Rawhiti throws a head kick that misses.
Rawhiti really is a fat lump.

Rawhiti takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Rawhiti avoids the head kick by Rooney.

Rawhiti shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rawhiti showed some decent athleticism there.
Rawhiti perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rawhiti is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Rooney has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Rawhiti controlling the position well here. Rooney rolled but Rawhiti kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Rawhiti is persistently looking for the submission but Rooney is defending it well.
Rooney felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Rooney is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Rawhiti working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Rooney is doing well to defend. Rawhiti seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Rooney is forced to tap and this one is over!
