The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Filipovic.
Fairchild showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Filipovic.
Fairchild shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Filipovic scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Fairchild doesn't seem bothered though.
Fairchild tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Fairchild fails in his attempt to clinch.
Horrible takedown by Fairchild or perhaps it was just good defense by Filipovic which made him look bad.

Filipovic tries to keep at a distance but Fairchild has taken the fight into the clinch.
Fairchild can't break the clinch.
Filipovic using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
With the fighters up against the cage, Filipovic throws an elbow but misses.

Filipovic escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fairchild misses with a takedown attempt - Filipovic sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Fairchild. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fairchild is breathing heavily.
Fairchild fails with an attempt to clinch.

Filipovic misses with a few strikes there.

A head kick lands from Filipovic that sends Fairchild to the canvas. Fairchild tries to scramble back to his feet but Filipovic brings him back down into side control.

Filipovic gets to mount! Fairchild was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Fairchild keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Filipovic is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Fairchild can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Fairchild defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Filipovic.
