Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lal Mirumra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Zapelini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lal Mirumra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rafael Zapelini!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Zapelini.
Horrible takedown by Mirumra or perhaps it was just good defense by Zapelini which made him look bad.
Zapelini tries to clinch but Mirumra moves out of range.
Mirumra fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Zapelini lands a big head kick that sends Mirumra tumbling to the mat! Zapelini takes a step backwards and waves Mirumra back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Lal Mirumra has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mirumra fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Zapelini avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lal Mirumra. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mirumra tries for a takedown but Zapelini sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Zapelini tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Zapelini.
Zapelini throws a head kick but Mirumra moves out of range.

Mirumra shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zapelini manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Mirumra thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Mirumra drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mirumra jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Zapelini is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mirumra forces his way into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zapelini wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zapelini looks winded!

Mirumra looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mirumra uses his free foot to push down on Zapelini's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zapelini.

Mirumra throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Zapelini has his hands clasped together but Mirumra breaks the hold and Zapelini is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Mirumra!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Lal Mirumra!
