Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Satoshi Ishii!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shoupp has closed the distance and engaged Ishii in a clinch.
Ishii is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Shoupp is defending well.
Shoupp gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ishii is trying to control but can't.
Ishii is looking to improve his position.
Ishii wants to control but Shoupp is keeping busy.
Ishii works his way to full guard. Good work.
Shoupp got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ishii has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shoupp has managed to get both his arms back between Ishii's legs - danger averted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ishii is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shoupp is aware though and is defending well.
Ishii is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Ishii is keen to just control but Shoupp is a slippery customer.
Shoupp won't allow Ishii to pass to mount.
Shoupp is not content to let Ishii control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ishii passes the guard and advances to mount!
Shoupp is breathing heavily.
Ishii wants to finish this one by submission but Shoupp is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ishii.
Shoupp on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shoupp tries to get out of the position.
Ishii throws some wild stikes that Shoupp manages to avoid easily.
Shoupp knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ishii on the ground.
Ishii is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Shoupp has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Ishii trying to control but Shoupp is having none of it.
Ishii wants to finish this one by submission but Shoupp is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ishii.
My spies in LOD: Bruce Lee Academy inform me that Ishii has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Ishii wants to control the pace but Shoupp is squirming around nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shoupp is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Ishii controlling the position easily from mount.
Shoupp tries to hold on but Ishii postures up.

Ishii can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shoupp is looking to escape.
Ishii is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Shoupp is in real trouble.
Shoupp prevents Ishii from getting a body triangle.
Ishii is working for a rear naked choke. Shoupp is not defending it well and Ishii has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Shoupp refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Shoupp's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Satoshi Ishii!
