PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Justin Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohammed Talebi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morgan comes into the arena with The Greatest Man That Ever Lived blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mohammed Talebi!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Joseph Jones and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Talebi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Morgan to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Morgan looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Talebi wants to stand but Morgan is controlling the position.
Talebi keeping moving, preventing Morgan from controlling successfully.

Talebi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Morgan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Talebi wants to stand and escape but Morgan is having none of it.
Talebi working a defensive guard but Morgan passes into half guard.

Talebi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morgan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Morgan prevents Talebi from improving his position.

Talebi is holding on to half guard well.
Talebi wants to improve his position but Morgan is controlling well.
Talebi keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Morgan looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Morgan is thwarting Talebi's attempts to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mohammed Talebi.
Talebi fails with the takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Morgan tries to clinch there but Talebi circles away.
Morgan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Talebi.
Talebi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Talebi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Talebi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Talebi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Morgan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Talebi postures up in Morgan's guard and throws a big left but Morgan blocks it.

Talebi lands a couple of elbows.
Talebi works over Morgan with some ground and pound from guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Talebi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Morgan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Talebi cracks Morgan with a big right hand but Morgan just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mohammed Talebi dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Morgan stuffs the takedown attempt from Talebi. Talebi gets slowly back to his feet.
Morgan tries a head kick but it misses.

Talebi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Talebi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Morgan is rocked!
Talebi scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Morgan is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Talebi can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
