Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Emilio Todd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zeeshan Shan!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shan scores with a head kick. Todd tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like Emilio Todd has been cut.

Shan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Shan decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Todd tries to keep at a distance but Shan has taken the fight into the clinch.

Shan jumps guard and drags Todd to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Shan feints and as Todd raises his hands in defense, Shan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Shan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Shan is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Todd has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Todd!

Shan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Todd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Todd manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Shan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Todd's guard.

Zeeshan Shan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Todd doesn't manage to clinch there - Shan circles away.
Todd fails with an attempt to clinch.
Todd tries to close the distance and clinch but Shan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shan throws a body kick that misses.
Shan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Shan scores with a takedown into Todd's guard.
Todd is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Shan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Shan stands and steps away. Todd gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Shan has Todd up against the cage in a clinch.
Todd is trying to push Shan away but Shan has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Shan has Todd pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Shan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Todd tumbling to the mat - Shan dives into Todd's guard.
Shan advances to half guard.
Shan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Todd knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Shan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Todd might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Shan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Todd is trying to control but Shan passes into side control!

Shan stands up and beckons Todd to his feet.

Shan turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Shan decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Todd tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shan paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Emilio Todd has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Zeeshan Shan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Zeeshan Shan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Shan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
