PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lonnie Mcneil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caelus Nox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nox comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Why cant we be freinds kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lonnie Mcneil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Caelus Nox!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nox swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mcneil counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
No joy there for Nox, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nox throws a combination that misses

and Mcneil counters by moving into the clinch.
Nox fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A hook to the body from Nox.
Mcneil tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Nox just stands there and leans against the cage.
Nox jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mcneil walks away with a smile on his face. Nox gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Mcneil scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Mcneil looks up at the clock and then as Nox takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mcneil smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Mcneil misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Nox really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcneil. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Nox shoots in for a double leg but Mcneil sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Nox looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mcneil is fending him off so far but Nox persists. Nope, Mcneil circles away and we're back to standing.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mcneil, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
