Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Rosholt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilfrid Laurier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Rosholt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Wilfrid Laurier!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laurier throws a right hand that Rosholt ducks under and follows up with a left that Rosholt also avoids with ease.
Rosholt dodges the punch combination from Laurier.
Laurier stuffs the takedown attempt from Rosholt. Rosholt gets slowly back to his feet.
Rosholt avoids the head kick by Laurier.
Rosholt darts in trying to clinch
and Laurier connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rosholt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Laurier avoids it really well and circles away.
Laurier tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Rosholt takes the fight into the clinch.
Rosholt can't find room to land a body shot as Laurier controls the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rosholt has a couple of punches blocked by Laurier.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Laurier.
Rosholt will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Laurier up against the cage.

Laurier breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice sprawl there from Laurier as Rosholt shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Rosholt. That's going to take a lot out of him.

so Rosholt counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Rosholt is looking to work some ground and pound but Laurier has wrist control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Laurier is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rosholt is controlling him.

Rosholt makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Laurier looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rosholt is one step ahead there.
Rosholt lands a couple of digs.
Rosholt lands a couple of elbows.

Laurier is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Rosholt wants to pass the guard but Laurier is keeping the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rosholt is working Laurier over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Rosholt sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Laurier's guard.
Laurier keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Laurier wants to improve his position but Rosholt is controlling well.
Laurier gets back to full guard.
Rosholt is working Laurier over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Rosholt stops Laurier from standing up.

Laurier throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rosholt escapes and throws Laurier's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Laurier gets back to half guard.
Rosholt prevents Laurier from standing back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rosholt slips a nice elbow through Laurier's hands, connecting with Laurier's forehead.
Laurier works his way to full guard. Good work.
Rosholt is looking to work some ground and pound but Laurier has wrist control.
Laurier has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Rosholt postures up.
Laurier looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rosholt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laurier swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Laurier wants to stand and escape but Rosholt is having none of it.
Rosholt trying to control but Laurier is working from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rosholt swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Laurier to counter with a crisp jab.
Rosholt goes for a double leg but Laurier avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Laurier continues to drive forward.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Rosholt dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Laurier swats away the attempt to clinch by Rosholt.
Laurier throws a right hand that misses

and Rosholt counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Rosholt prevents Laurier from improving his position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rosholt connects with a nice short shot to Laurier's temple.
Laurier is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Rosholt is working for a kimura but Laurier is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rosholt tries to pass to full mount but Laurier defends it.
Laurier on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Laurier wants to get back to full guard but Rosholt has mounted him!
BOOM! Rosholt connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Laurier working to try and regain half guard.
Laurier wants to control but Rosholt is having none of it.

Rosholt swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Laurier is now in Rosholt's guard. A big mistake from Rosholt there, giving up the dominant position!
Laurier wants to pass the guard but Rosholt is keeping the position.
Laurier trying to control the position from guard on top but Rosholt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Laurier might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rosholt haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rosholt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Laurier is one step ahead there.
Laurier is looking to advance position but Rosholt has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Rosholt lands with some strikes.
Laurier can't escape the position.
Laurier is still trying to improve position.
Rosholt with shots to the head and body - Laurier looks very uncomfortable down there.
Rosholt postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Laurier out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Rosholt goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Tony Rosholt!
A very excited looking Tony Rosholt made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
