Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Francis Hampton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor McNeil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Francis Hampton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trevor McNeil! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Hampton looks like he's thinking about clinching though. McNeil looking for a takedown here - he's got it. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Hampton is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hampton looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hampton trying to strike off his back.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McNeil accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hampton is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Francis Hampton wasn't doing enough on the ground. Hampton is looking to take this fight into the clinch. McNeil throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hampton was covering up waiting for the punch and McNeil finishes the takedown easily into guard. McNeil looks winded! McNeil controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hampton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McNeil trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hampton's guard.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Trevor McNeil wasn't active enough on the ground. McNeil shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hampton's guard. Hampton has his feet on McNeil's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McNeil circles away from the clinch attempt.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Trevor McNeil was stalling too much, according to the referee. McNeil rushes Hampton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hampton is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Trevor McNeil dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hampton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McNeil paws at him with a jab and circles away. We've been informed that McNeil has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. McNeil drives through with a takedown into guard. McNeil is looking to pass into half guard but Hampton pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Hampton is in guard. Hampton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. McNeil tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McNeil is breathing heavily. Hampton makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hampton postures up in McNeil's guard and throws a big left but McNeil blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hampton trying to stand up but can't free himself from McNeil's guard. Hampton lands a couple of elbows. McNeil is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hampton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McNeil on the ground. McNeil tries to pass to full mount but Hampton defends it. Hampton is refusing to be controlled, as McNeil sits in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Trevor McNeil was stalling too much, according to the referee. Hampton tries a head kick but it misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McNeil clinches up against the cage. McNeil is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hampton can't fight it off and eventually McNeil manages to take the fight to the floor. Hampton looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hampton throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

McNeil takes a decent strike to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McNeil wants to control from the top but Hampton keeps moving. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Trevor McNeil wasn't active enough on the ground. Hampton uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McNeil has time to react. McNeil looking for a takedown here - he's got it. McNeil trying to control but Hampton is working from the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Trevor McNeil showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Hampton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Hampton moves into range and clinches up with McNeil. Hampton keeps the fight in the clinch, despite McNeil's efforts to push away. McNeil gets a trip takedown into half guard. Hampton tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Hampton is trying to control but can't.
Hampton throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and McNeil manages to pass to side control. McNeil takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. McNeil working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hampton is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. McNeil throwing shots but Hampton is blocking nicely. McNeil wants to pass the guard but Hampton is defending well. Hampton wants to get back to full guard.

Francis Hampton has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Hampton wants to clinch. McNeil drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hampton looking for a sweep. Not yet Hampton, not yet. Hampton keeping moving, preventing McNeil from controlling successfully. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

He's landed in Hampton's guard. McNeil wants to control from the top but Hampton keeps moving. That's four minutes gone in the round. Hampton throwing strikes but missing. McNeil is trying to control the position but Hampton postures up. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. McNeil throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hampton uses it to pass to side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McNeil tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hampton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Trevor McNeil comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got McNeil winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
