Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Leer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Sendoh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Akira Sendoh was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leer throws a quick inside leg kick.
Leer shoots in for a takedown but Sendoh shows good takedown defense.
Leer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Leer throws a head kick that misses.
Leer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sendoh sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Leer somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Leer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Leer has Sendoh up against the cage in a clinch.
Leer tries to land a knee to the head but Sendoh blocks with his arms.
Leer has Sendoh pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sendoh manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Sendoh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sendoh stuffs the takedown attempt from Leer. Leer gets slowly back to his feet.

Sendoh drops Leer with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Leer looks back up at him and smiles so Sendoh waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Mike Leer has been cut.
Akira Sendoh is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Leer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sendoh.

Leer gets tackled into the cage by Sendoh. Sendoh maintains the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Leer moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Sendoh lunges at Leer with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Leer's hand.
Leer looks to clinch
and Sendoh counters with a straight right hand.
Sendoh throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sendoh throws a body punch but Leer moves out of range.
Leer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sendoh scores with a jab.
Sendoh misses with a few strikes there.
Sendoh throws a series of punches but Leer moves out of range.

Sendoh feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Leer sprawling to the canvas! Leer rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Sendoh finish him?!

Leer is rocked!
Sendoh throws a right and a left that both miss.
Oh Leer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Leer blocks a jab.
Sendoh misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Leer seems to have got his legs back now.
Sendoh lands a jab to Leer's midsection.

Sendoh looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nice straight punches there by Leer. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Leer.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Leer. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Leer shoots in looking for a takedown. Sendoh tries to sprawl out of it but Leer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sendoh manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sendoh throws out a loose jab but Leer uses good head movement to avoid it.
Leer shoots in and drives through. Sendoh sprawls well.
Akira Sendoh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sendoh gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Sendoh's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sendoh thows a body shot but no joy.
Sendoh tries to clinch but Leer moves out of range.
Leer closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Sendoh has managed to clinch.

Leer manages to break the clinch.
Sendoh is looking to clinch but Leer is avoiding it.

and Sendoh counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nice uppercut lands for Sendoh. That snapped Leer's head back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Leer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sendoh.
No joy there for Sendoh, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Leer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sendoh but Sendoh pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sendoh stalling in the clinch but Leer improves position.
Leer fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Akira Sendoh seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Leer is trying to push Sendoh away but Sendoh has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Sendoh content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Sendoh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Leer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sendoh tries to close the distance and clinch but Leer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Leer slips under a jab.
Nice body kick there by Leer.

Sendoh lands a left and a right that send Leer crashing to the mat, dazed. Sendoh thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Mike Leer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sendoh moves in close and cracks Leer with a massive right hand! Leer, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Sendoh!

Akira Sendoh decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
