The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Varadionov does no damage.
Varadionov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Black was covering up waiting for the punch and Varadionov finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Black has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Black controls Varadionov momentarily but Varadionov frees himself.
Black avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Varadionov has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Black regains guard immediately.

Varadionov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Black got a little sloppy there for a moment and Varadionov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Black has managed to get both his arms back between Varadionov's legs - danger averted.

Well Varadionov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
