Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Murdoch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. John Doe has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dean Murdoch!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murdoch scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Doe misses with a wild combination.
Murdoch slips a jab and a cross from Doe.
Doe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Doe moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Dean Murdoch has been cut.

Doe moves into range and clinches up with Murdoch.

Doe lands a takedown into guard.
Doe really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Doe is breathing heavily.
Doe working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Doe is looking to work some ground and pound but Murdoch has wrist control.
Doe keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Murdoch's head.
Doe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Murdoch is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Doe regains full guard. Nicely done.
Murdoch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Murdoch is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Murdoch won't allow Doe to sweep him here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dean Murdoch.
Murdoch tries to bum rush Doe with a series of wild strikes but Doe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Murdoch throws a nice looking combination but Doe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Doe lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Murdoch backs up against the cage.
Murdoch looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Murdoch swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Doe fails to land with a series of punches.
Doe throws a series of punches but Murdoch avoids them all with ease.
Murdoch throws a jab when Doe was well out of range.
Murdoch misses with a head kick.
Doe keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A big left from Murdoch misses.

Doe rushes Murdoch and presses him up against the cage.

Murdoch decides to pull guard.
Doe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Doe is sitting in close to Murdoch's body. Murdoch has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Doe is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Doe is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Murdoch.
