And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Buster Quinn!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Quinn.
Quinn stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Quinn wants it to stay on the feet.
Cervantes checks a low kick from Quinn.
Quinn leaves Cervantes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Cervantes fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Quinn counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cervantes thinking.

It looks like Armando Cervantes has been cut.

Quinn moves into the clinch successfully.
Cervantes jumps guard but Quinn turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Cervantes is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Cervantes wants a takedown.
Quinn told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
Quinn lands a body shot.
Cervantes tries to pull guard but Quinn holds him up against the cage and eventually Cervantes drops back down to his feet.
Quinn fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Quinn ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Quinn no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Quinn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cervantes manages to get himself to full guard.

Quinn controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
It looks like Quinn might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Quinn pushes down on Cervantes's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Quinn takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Quinn passes to side control.
A control attempt from Cervantes but he's now mounted!

Quinn tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Cervantes is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Quinn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Quinn prevents Cervantes from getting the reversal.
Quinn controlling his opponent.
Cervantes is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

BOOM! Quinn connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Quinn controlling the pace for now.
Quinn's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Quinn has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Cervantes is forced to tap!

A determined Buster Quinn didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
