PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brian Chiaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Kick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Chiaro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andy Kick!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kick looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chiaro is fending him off so far but Kick persists. Nope, Chiaro circles away and we're back to standing.
Kick throws a series of strikes that have Chiaro backpedaling.
Kick fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Chiaro throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kick shoots for a takedown but Chiaro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kick is working for takedown but Chiaro is calmly controlling the position for now.

It looks like Andy Kick has been cut.

Chiaro tries to land a front kick but Kick steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Chiaro moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Chiaro makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Chiaro gets underhooks to prevent Kick's takedown attempt.

Kick is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kick is trying to keep Chiaro in close.

Chiaro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kick works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Kick escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chiaro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Chiaro misses with a combination

and Kick counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Chiaro!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chiaro goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kick has gone for a leg lock! Chiaro slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kick's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brian Chiaro will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Chiaro tries to bum rush Kick with a series of wild strikes but Kick uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kick changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chiaro looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kick wants to pass the guard but Chiaro is keeping the position.

Andy Kick comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kick has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
