PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Moe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morgan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hollywood Undead - Undead. Dominic Morgan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dominic Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joe Moe!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Morgan.
Morgan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Morgan wants to clinch.
Morgan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Moe as he avoids it easily.

Moe clinches with his opponent.

Moe breaks the clinch.
Morgan looks to score with a jab to the body but Moe is just out of range.
Morgan shoots for a double leg takedown but Moe sprawls well. He's pushed Morgan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dominic Morgan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sloppy strikes from Morgan. Those never looked like landing.
Nice straight punches there by Moe. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Moe.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Moe can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Moe is trying to get back to his feet.

Morgan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moe on the ground.

Morgan is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Moe has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Moe!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Moe passes Morgan's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Morgan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Moe is working away from the top position though.

Moe is trying to work for a kimura but Morgan is defending well.
Morgan is looking for a sweep. Moe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dominic Morgan will probably get the nod.
That's time! Morgan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Morgan darts in looking for a takedown but Moe gets double underhooks and turns Morgan into the cage.

Moe works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Moe wants to pass the guard but Morgan is keeping the position.

Moe uses his free foot to push down on Morgan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Morgan.

Morgan wants to control but Moe is having none of it.

Moe stands up from mount. Strange move.
Moe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Morgan as he jumps to the side.

Morgan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Moe manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Morgan has Moe in his guard.

Moe is trying to work for a kimura but Morgan is defending well.
Morgan throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Moe is looking to take a break and control but Morgan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Moe is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Morgan has managed to free his arm - good work.
Morgan wants to get back to his feet.
Moe looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Moe wants to take a breather but Morgan is having none of it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Moe in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Joe Moe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Morgan enables Moe to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Morgan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Morgan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Moe seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Moe has control of Morgan's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Morgan regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Joe Moe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Moe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
