Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keneth Morris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Markus Ruas!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ben Watson and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ruas shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Morris's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ruas with a flurry of punches that miss.
Ruas in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ruas looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Morris is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ruas throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Ruas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ruas postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Ruas in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ruas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ruas missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Morris lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ruas!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Morris postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ruas looks a forlorn figure.

Ruas wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Ruas flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Ruas is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Ruas is working to get back to half guard.
Morris really is a fat lump.
Ruas swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Ruas wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Morris.
Ruas is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Ruas can't escape the position.
Ruas is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ruas is squirming around, avoiding Morris's attempts to control the action.
Ruas tries to reverse the position but Morris maintains control.
Ruas squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Morris controlling the pace for now.
Ruas is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morris controlling the position easily from mount.
Ruas wants to get back to his feet.
Morris can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ruas is looking to escape.
Morris is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ruas is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ruas wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Markus Ruas dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Ruas thuds a left hand into Morris's body.
Ruas lands a really nice looking cross but Morris seems unphased.


It looks like Keneth Morris has been cut.
Ruas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Morris was well out of range. Poor timing from Ruas.
Ruas fails with an attempt to clinch.

Ruas rushes Morris and presses him up against the cage.

Ruas has clasped his hands together around Morris's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morris on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Morris is rocked!
Ruas lands a big left to the face of Morris, bouncing his head like a basketball. Another shot from Ruas and another - Morris is out! Ruas stands up and salutes his fans, who are going crazy in the stands.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Markus Ruas!
Markus Ruas decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
