Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Manos De Piedra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Yomata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manos De Piedra has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Manos De Piedra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kenji Yomata!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yomata throws an off balance right hand
and De Piedra counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Yomata stuffs the takedown attempt from De Piedra. De Piedra gets slowly back to his feet.
Kenji Yomata seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Piedra tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Yomata defends well and De Piedra ends up having to push Yomata into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
De Piedra stops a takedown attempt from Yomata.
De Piedra has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Yomata after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Manos De Piedra. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yomata keeps control of De Piedra as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
De Piedra tries to pull guard but Yomata forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
De Piedra wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

De Piedra pulls guard effortlessly.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Yomata throws a big elbow that misses.
De Piedra is breathing heavily.
Yomata wants to control from the top but De Piedra keeps moving.
De Piedra knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yomata on the ground.

Yomata won't allow De Piedra to get back to his feet.
Yomata landing with the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yomata postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Yomata is pushing down on De Piedra's leg trying to pass to half guard. De Piedra is fighting to maintain full guard but Yomata has managed to sneak the leg through.
Yomata wants to lay and pray for a moment but De Piedra keeps working.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Yomata connects with a nice short shot to De Piedra's temple.
Yomata takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Yomata sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. De Piedra defending well though.
Yomata is trying to control. De Piedra wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Yomata is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for De Piedra!
Yomata lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
De Piedra takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Yomata looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Yomata connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Yomata is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Yomata wants to control the pace but De Piedra is squirming around nicely.
Yomata pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Yomata is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. De Piedra can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Yomata looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Yomata lands a nice shot to the head.

Yomata goes for an armbar but De Piedra turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from De Piedra.
De Piedra won't allow Yomata to sweep him here.
De Piedra has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Yomata pulls De Piedra in close to his closed guard and prevents De Piedra from doing any damage or advancing position.

Yomata keeps trying to improve his position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yomata is trying to keep De Piedra in close.

Yomata is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! De Piedra has his hands clasped together but Yomata extends and breaks De Piedra's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Yomata.
