Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lance Boyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lance Boyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chuck Norris!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Norris shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Norris was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Norris decides to stand back up.

Norris looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Boyle!

Norris thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Norris stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Norris fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Norris will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Norris shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Boyle counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Lance Boyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Norris.
Norris looks winded!

Norris closes the distance and pushes Boyle back into the cage.
Norris is trying to break the clinch but Boyle has him pressed against the cage.
Boyle crunches a lovely knee into Norris's ribcage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Boyle manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Boyle might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Boyle wants to sweep here but Norris controlling him for the moment.

Boyle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Norris can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Boyle is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Boyle seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Boyle seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Boyle decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Norris shoots in for a double leg but Boyle sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Norris clinches with his opponent.
Boyle struggles to land a body shot inside as Norris controls his hands.
Norris has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Boyle jumps guard.
Boyle could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Boyle wants to stand and escape but Norris is having none of it.

Norris got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boyle has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Norris has managed to get both his arms back between Boyle's legs - danger averted.

Boyle is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Norris wants to pass the guard but Boyle is keeping the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Boyle wants to sweep here but Norris controlling him for the moment.
Boyle manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Norris manages to get himself to full guard.

Boyle makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Norris is trying to control the position but Boyle postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Norris working for submissions but it's allowed Boyle to get to half guard.

Boyle is trying to work for a kimura but Norris is defending well.

Boyle looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!


Norris throws a series of punches but Boyle avoids them all with ease.

Norris instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boyle landing knees to the body.

Norris pulls guard effortlessly.
Norris looking to hit a scissor sweep but Boyle is one step ahead there.
Boyle working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Norris is looking for a triangle but Boyle pushes his legs off easily.
Norris is breathing heavily.
Norris wants to sweep here but Boyle controlling him for the moment.

Boyle drops back looking for a leg! Norris is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Norris manages to kick Boyle off! Boyle jumps back into Norris's guard.
Boyle in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Norris has control of Boyle's left arm, preventing Boyle from doing any damage.
Boyle controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Lance Boyle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Boyle stands and throws Norris's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Norris can't do much from the bottom here.

Boyle decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Norris shoots for a takedown but Boyle saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Norris drives through and clinches with Boyle against the cage.
Norris avoids the elbow strike from Boyle, against the cage.
Boyle tries a body shot but Norris blocks it.
Norris with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Boyle tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Norris smiles and moves away.

Boyle closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Boyle gets to mount! Norris was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lance Boyle dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Norris swats away the attempt to clinch by Boyle.
Norris will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Norris moves into the clinch successfully.
Norris is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Boyle to keep the fight standing.
Boyle tries to pull guard but Norris won't allow it.

Boyle manages to break the clinch.
Norris will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Norris looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Boyle is fending him off so far but Norris persists. Nope, Boyle circles away and we're back to standing.
Lance Boyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Norris.
Norris takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Norris shoots for a double leg takedown but Boyle sprawls well. He's pushed Norris's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Norris tries to sprawl but Boyle drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Boyle is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Norris doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Boyle.

Boyle postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Norris to stand up.

Norris forces Boyle back against the cage and clinches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Boyle breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Norris moves into the clinch.

Boyle has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Norris clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Norris is still trying to improve position.

Boyle tightening his grip on Norris, looking for the choke.
Norris looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Boyle is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Norris has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Norris wants to control his opponent's hands but Boyle gets his hands free.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Norris is covering up but some of the strikes from Boyle are getting through and doing damage.
Chuck Norris has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lance Boyle is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lance Boyle showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Boyle, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
