Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Khasim Shaqir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones gets caught napping as Shaqir dives in and scores a takedown. Jones manages to retain guard.

Shaqir gets to his feet - Jones follows without any prompting.

Shaqir parries the strikes from Jones easily there. Jones is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Shaqir to escape.

Shaqir really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shaqir can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jones lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Shaqir down.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Jones will probably get the nod.

Shaqir feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
