Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Faustino Hooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shapovolov Sokoloff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sokoloff closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hooper circles away.
Sokoloff gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hooper counters by clinching up.
Hooper really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hooper tries to break the clinch but Sokoloff is controlling the position.

Sokoloff's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Hooper gets a double leg takedown into Sokoloff's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Sokoloff trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Sokoloff wants to stand and escape but Hooper is having none of it.
Sokoloff looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hooper is one step ahead there.

Hooper trying to control the position from guard on top but Sokoloff is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We're going to have a standup here because Faustino Hooper wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Sokoloff drives through and clinches with Hooper against the cage.
Hooper has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Hooper escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shapovolov Sokoloff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hooper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sokoloff gets a clinch.
Hooper has had enough of the clinch but Sokoloff keeps him there for the moment.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Sokoloff's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sokoloff fails with a takedown attempt.
Faustino Hooper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shapovolov Sokoloff.

and Sokoloff holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Hooper tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sokoloff's elbow.
Sokoloff lands a left hand.

Sokoloff breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sokoloff throws a low kick, looking for Hooper's leg but Hooper calmly moves out of range.
Sokoloff is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Hooper like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Hooper from another fist facial!
