The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard.
Hermit wants to sweep but no luck.
Silva trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hermit's guard.
Silva trying to control but Hermit is working from the bottom.
Hermit is pulling down on Silva's head to control his posture.
Hermit looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there.
Hermit keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Erick Silva hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hermit swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Silva is looking to clinch but Hermit is avoiding it.
Hermit shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hermit was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hermit is putting a hurting on Silva here, landing some big shots from side control.
