PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gennero Ed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Golden Potato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potato pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Potato fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ed lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ed just misses with a punch to the body.
A jab from Ed does it's job there.

Potato rushes Ed and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ed is trying to break free.
Ed tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Potato's elbow.
Potato has a couple of punches blocked by Ed.
Potato misses with an elbow strike.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A nice left hand lands by Potato.
Potato throws an elbow but it misses.
Potato lands with a short shot to the head.
Potato scores with a shot to the side of Ed's head.

Ed breaks from the clinch.
Potato tries to clinch but Ed is having none of it.
A swing and a miss from Ed.
Ed missing with a left hand there. Potato was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ed avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ed cracks Potato with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Oooooh!!! Ed has knocked Potato down with a huge combo! Ed steps away and waves a wobbly Potato back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Potato is rocked!
Ed misses with a hook.
Potato is still on wobbly legs! Can Ed finish him?
Potato fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ed avoids the head kick by Potato.
Ed punishes Potato's body with a nice straight punch.
Potato seems to have recovered his senses.
Potato displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ed throws out the jab.
Ed scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Potato misses with a head kick.
Potato tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ed lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Ed sends Potato crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Ed is motioning to the referee to let Potato up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ed circles away from the clinch attempt.
Potato uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ed.
Potato walks straight into a right hand from Ed - that's dropped him! Ed jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Potato from any more punishment! Potato complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
