The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels shoots for a takedown but Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Silva throws a looping overhand right but Michaels ducks down to avoid it.
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Silva misses with a body shot.
Silva scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Michaels tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shaun Michaels. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Michaels throws a nice outside leg kick.
Silva scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Michaels is defended easily by Silva.
Michaels is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Michaels fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Silva punishes Michaels's body with a nice straight punch.
Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Silva bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Michaels walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Silva lands with a nice body punch.

Michaels gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Silva gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Michaels is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
