Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luciano King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mavel Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mavel Wilson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luciano King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mavel Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King avoids the head kick by Wilson.
Wilson tries a head kick but it misses.
Wilson thows a leg kick but King checks it

and King counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Wilson is looking for a sweep. King is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Wilson tries to kick King off but King keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Wilson wants to control but King is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King escapes and gets back to his feet.
Wilson misses with a low kick.
King jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Wilson fails to land the takedown.
Wilson tries to land a front kick but King steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Wilson tries a head kick but it misses.
Wilson misses with the combination.

King shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wilson pinned against the cage. Wilson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

King is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wilson's half guard.
King is taking a breather. Wilson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

King is looking for a kimura but Wilson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for King to get the leverage.
Wilson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. King is working away from the top position though.

Wilson is defending against the submission attempts here by King.
King throwing shots but Wilson is blocking nicely.

King is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
King is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Wilson is trying to stand.
Wilson looks winded!

King is working for a submission of some sort.

King decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

King misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wilson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Wilson tries a head kick but it misses.

King ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

King drives through with a takedown into Wilson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
King might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
King content to stall in guard here.

King won't allow Wilson to get back to his feet.
Wilson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
King's corner is telling him to maintain position.

King drops back looking for a leg! Wilson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wilson manages to kick King off! King jumps back into Wilson's guard.
King in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
King stands up from Wilson's guard - King perhaps looking for a knockout.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luciano King dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



King manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wilson on his heels. He'll look to pass Wilson's guard now, I'm sure.
King seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Wilson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

King is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wilson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wilson has escaped and now he's on top!

Wilson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Wilson is breathing heavily.

King goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Wilson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in King's guard! Nice work there by Wilson!

Wilson wants to stand but King has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mavel Wilson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Wilson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
King misses with a head kick.
Both fighters circling a little - Wilson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Wilson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. King checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Wilson throws a head kick but King moves out of range.
King shoots in for a double leg but Wilson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wilson wants to clinch up but King keeps it at a distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wilson.
King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wilson swivels and escapes.
Wilson scores with a spinning back kick!
Wilson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
King scores with a head kick.
Wilson blocks a head kick by King.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wilson throws a wild body kick that King sees coming a mile off.
King will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luciano King. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wilson wants to clinch but King slips to the side
and King makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Wilson misses with a head kick.
Wilson is looking to land body kicks.

King shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

King decides to return to a standing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Luciano King will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


King shoots in looking for a takedown but Wilson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing King's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wilson tries to close the distance and clinch up but King swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Wilson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck King on the side of the head.
King shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wilson sprawls well. Wilson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. King gets slowly back to his feet.

King lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

King is working for a submission of some sort.
This has been an exciting period of action!

King is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Wilson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. King is working away from the top position though.

King is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
King wants to take a breather but Wilson is having none of it.

King is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wilson has managed to free his arm - good work.

King is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wilson defends it well.

King throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Well, if King is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for King, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
