PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Leon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morgan comes to the cage accompanied by Hollywood Undead - Undead. Dominic Morgan had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dominic Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Martin Leon!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leon takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Morgan looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Morgan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leon tries to avoid it but Morgan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leon to the ground. Leon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Leon gets caught napping as Morgan dives in and scores a takedown. Leon manages to retain guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Morgan prevents Leon from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leon pulls Morgan in close to prevent any damage.
Leon is looking to stand up but Morgan isn't so interested in that idea.

Morgan stands up from Leon's guard - Morgan perhaps looking for a knockout.

Leon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Leon breaks from the clinch.
Morgan throws a sloppy head kick and Leon moves out of range easily.
Leon lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Leon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Leon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Leon swings around for an armbar but Morgan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Leon's guard.

Morgan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Morgan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

We're going to have a standup here because Dominic Morgan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Morgan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Morgan takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
No joy there for Morgan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Morgan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Leon can pounce on him.

Leon digs a good hook to Morgan's body.
Morgan takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Leon lands a nice hook to Morgan's body. Morgan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Morgan misses with a left hand
and Leon counters with a three punch combo that has Morgan backing up. Morgan nods at Leon to acknowledge the strikes.
Morgan throws a leg kick but Leon sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Morgan looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

and Leon counters by moving into the clinch.
Morgan tries to pull guard but Leon won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dominic Morgan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Leon stalling.

Leon manages to break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morgan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Leon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Leon takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Leon drives through and clinches with Morgan against the cage.

Leon pulls Morgan into guard.
Leon trying to keep a closed guard but Morgan is proving a slippery customer.
Morgan throws a big elbow that misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Leon is trying to control the position but Morgan postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A close round but Martin Leon will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Morgan seems to be working for a kimura but Leon defends the submission attempt.

Leon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Morgan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Morgan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Leon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Leon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Leon!
Morgan looks to move to half guard but instead Leon has passed into mount! Damn!
Leon looking to control but Morgan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Morgan is in all sorts of trouble here.

Leon is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Morgan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Leon tightens his grip and picks Morgan up, before dumping him to the ground. Morgan manages to land in guard.

Morgan seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Leon working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Morgan's head.
Leon with a flurry of punches that miss.
Morgan keeping moving, preventing Leon from controlling successfully.
Morgan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Leon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Morgan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Leon, into his guard.

Morgan wants to pass the guard but Leon is keeping the position.
Dominic Morgan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Morgan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Leon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Morgan, into his guard.

Morgan has his foot on Leon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Leon works his way back into a safe position though.

Leon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Morgan, up you get!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Morgan enables Leon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Morgan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

I would just about give that final round to Martin Leon.
I think Leon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
