Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Omar Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Roger Burns!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw dives in for a single leg takedown but Burns sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Shaw's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Burns shoots in for a double leg but Shaw sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Burns wants to clinch but Shaw slips to the side
and Shaw cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Burns shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shaw as he avoids it easily.
Burns with a lazy takedown attempt
and Shaw counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Omar Shaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Burns.
Left hook, right uppercut from Burns.
Burns tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shaw swivels and escapes.
Burns changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shaw tries to avoid it but Burns manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shaw to the ground. Shaw escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Burns doesn't manage to clinch there - Shaw circles away.
Burns shoots in but Shaw avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Burns tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shaw swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Burns tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shaw sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Burns somewhat.

Shaw shoots for a double leg takedown but Burns sprawls well. He's pushed Shaw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Roger Burns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Shaw counters with a low kick, right behind Burns 's knee.

Shaw fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Burns has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Burns lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Roger Burns decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
