Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Voljin Darkspear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Hawkman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Hawkman will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darkspear changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hawkman tries to avoid it but Darkspear manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hawkman to the ground. Hawkman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hawkman looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Darkspear fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hawkman avoids it really well and circles away.
We've been hearing reports that Darkspear has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Darkspear tries to clinch but Hawkman moves away

and Hawkman counters with a shoot takedown. Darkspear fights it but they end up in guard.

Hawkman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Darkspear knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hawkman on the ground.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jon Hawkman wasn't active enough on the ground.
Darkspear misses with a hook.
Hawkman lands a head kick. Darkspear smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Hawkman's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hawkman's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Darkspear shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Voljin Darkspear. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Darkspear tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hawkman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Darkspear tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Hawkman is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Hawkman!
