Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Manabu Yakazuki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shane Faulkner!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faulkner tries to clinch but Yakazuki moves out of range.
Faulkner looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Yakazuki throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Faulkner was covering up waiting for the punch and Yakazuki finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Yakazuki sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Faulkner's guard.
Yakazuki has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Faulkner defend it? Yakazuki steps over the head and cranks it - Faulkner is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Yakazuki!
