Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jo Murdoch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Top Dog!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog shoots for a double leg takedown but Murdoch sprawls well. He's pushed Dog's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Dog shoots in and bounces Murdoch off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Dog throws a big right hand that misses.
Murdoch trying to control the position here.
Murdoch's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Dog decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Murdoch, up you get!
Murdoch looks to land a combination. Dog sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Dog misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dog looks gassed!
Dog shoots for a takedown but Murdoch saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jo Murdoch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Top Dog.

Murdoch gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Murdoch looking to throw knees to the head but Dog is blocking nicely.

Murdoch escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Murdoch lands a really nice looking cross but Dog seems unphased.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Dog shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Murdoch as he avoids it easily.
Murdoch throws a leg kick which misses Dog's front leg but catches the back leg as Dog tries to avoid it.
A head kick from Murdoch lands but Dog takes it in his stride.

Murdoch shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Murdoch postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dog looks a forlorn figure.
Murdoch tries to control but Dog wriggling away.
Murdoch breaks from Dog's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Dog tries to reverse the position but Murdoch maintains control.
Dog bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Dog prevents Murdoch from getting back to his feet.

Dog decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dog has Murdoch up against the cage in a clinch.
Dog tries to pull guard but Murdoch holds him up against the cage and eventually Dog drops back down to his feet.
Murdoch is looking to control Dog's arms but Dog gets an underhook and turns him. Now Murdoch has his back to the cage.

Murdoch breaks from the clinch.
Murdoch misses with a few strikes there.
Dog shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Murdoch but Murdoch pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dog fails in his attempt to clinch.
Murdoch fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dog.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dog throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Murdoch's waist but Murdoch gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dog off to one side.
Dog avoids a punch combination nicely.

Murdoch darts in and clinches Dog up against the cage.
Dog tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Murdoch just stands there and leans against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Murdoch throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Murdoch has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dog avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Murdoch goes for a takedown attempt but Dog pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Dog misses with a takedown attempt

and Murdoch holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Murdoch misses with a knee strike.
Dog tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Murdoch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Murdoch gets caught flat footed, as Dog shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Murdoch keeping full guard, as Dog tries to pass.
Murdoch looking for a sweep. Not yet Murdoch, not yet.
Dog sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Murdoch's guard.
Dog trying to pass the guard but Murdoch defending well.
Murdoch tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Dog manages to move to mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Murdoch in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Dog prevents Murdoch from getting the reversal.
Dog looking to finish Murdoch with some ground and pound. This is bad for Murdoch!
Murdoch is trying desperately to improve position.
Dog dominating with strikes here.
Murdoch can't escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dog looking to secure an arm triangle but Murdoch defends it well.

Dog is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Murdoch has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Murdoch!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jo Murdoch will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Dog swats away the attempt to clinch by Murdoch.

Dog closes the distance and clinches.
Dog is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Murdoch pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Dog tries to throw a body punch but Murdoch avoids it by throwing Dog back against the cage.

Murdoch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Murdoch throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Dog's head.
Murdoch misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Murdoch throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Dog fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Murdoch sprawls well initially but Dog persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Murdoch is trying to get back to full guard.
Dog performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Murdoch tries to roll over but Dog keeps him under control.
Dog frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Dog working for a submission but Murdoch is keeping him at bay.
Murdoch tries to control Dog's body but Dog pushes him off. Murdoch squirms to his side and now Dog has his back!

Dog sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Murdoch taps out!
