Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Lask (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georgio Poganninni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brian Lask!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Georgio Poganninni!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lask shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Poganninni as he jumps to the side.

Lask wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Lask trying to control the position from guard on top but Poganninni is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Poganninni escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lask gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Poganninni looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lask is one step ahead there.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Poganninni can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lask drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Poganninni dives on top into guard.
Lask could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Lask might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

It looks like Poganninni might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Georgio Poganninni has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Lask tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Poganninni paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lask changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Poganninni tries to avoid it but Lask manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Poganninni to the ground. Poganninni escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lask shoots in looking for a takedown but Poganninni manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lask's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Lask. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Poganninni jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Lask manages to avoid the submission attempt.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Georgio Poganninni wasn't active enough on the ground.

Poganninni bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lask tries to improve position but can't.
The referee asks Poganninni politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Poganninni prefers to stall for the moment though.

Lask is trying to work for a sweep but Poganninni has mounted him!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lask tries to reverse the position but Poganninni maintains control.
Lask manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Lask wants to control but Poganninni is keeping busy.
Lask trying to get back to full guard but Poganninni takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Poganninni fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Poganninni is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lask to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lask shrugs it off.

Georgio Poganninni showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Lask's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

You can see the frustration on Lask's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lask tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Poganninni wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Poganninni looks up at the clock and then as Lask takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Poganninni smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Lask is looking to regain half guard here but Poganninni keeps moving and retains side control.

Lask manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Poganninni moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Georgio Poganninni is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I've got Poganninni winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
