PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Guillermo Espada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Bitag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Espada's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Greedy Fly. The key to victory for Guillermo Espada has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Guillermo Espada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Bitag!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Espada feints a jab promting Bitag to slip. Espada then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bitag slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Ben Bitag has been cut.
Espada throws a series of punches but Bitag avoids them all with ease.
Espada fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bitag on the side of the head.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bitag has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Espada drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Espada throws a right hand that Bitag ducks under and follows up with a left that Bitag also avoids with ease.
Bitag looks to score with a jab to the body but Espada is just out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bitag is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Espada wants to get up but he can't break Bitag's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Espada is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bitag is controlling him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Espada shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Bitag eats them both and turns towards Espada to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Ben Bitag got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
