The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ch tries a head kick but it misses.
Rutledge really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
ch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
ch lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
ch explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from ch, right into the meat.
Rutledge tries to close the distance and clinch but ch swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
ch misses with a looping right.

ch throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Pun ch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Rutledge manages to break the clinch.
ch throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
ch misses with a double jab

Rutledge is looking for a takedown up against the cage. ch gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Rutledge will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rutledge manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. ch manages to get himself to full guard.
Rutledge is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from ch.
ch misses with a low kick as Rutledge jumps back.

ch digs a right hand underneath Rutledge's ribcage. Rutledge let out a lung full of air as it connected.
ch presses Rutledge against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

ch wants to stand and escape but instead Rutledge has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Rutledge is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Rutledge shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rutledge showed some decent athleticism there.
Rutledge takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Rutledge passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for ch!

ch tries to buck Rutledge off but Rutledge takes his back!
Rutledge controls the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Rutledge counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in ch's guard now.

Rutledge seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Rutledge's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Rutledge is standing up over ch. ch looks to escape but Rutledge dives into side control.
ch takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
ch is looking to get back to his feet here but Rutledge is keeping cool and he's managed to take ch's back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rutledge has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of ch's body.

Rutledge is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but ch won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Rutledge off his unconscious opponent!
