Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Richie Furst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Hamer!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Furst is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hamer moves out of range of the leg kick from Furst.
Furst doesn't manage to clinch there - Hamer circles away.
Furst tries to clinch up but Hamer circles away and keeps his distance.

Hamer moves into the clinch.
Hamer blocking some punches.
Hamer wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Furst has him pressed against the cage.

Hamer has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Furst uses from the top position.
Furst trying to control but Hamer is working from the bottom.
Hamer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Furst is one step ahead there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hamer wants to sweep but no luck.

Furst drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hamer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hamer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hamer!
Furst manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hamer in particular looking to stall.
Furst definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Furst is looking to improve his position.
Hamer stalling.

Furst looking for submissions off his back.
Furst regains full guard. Nicely done.

Furst looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hamer is one step ahead there.
Furst not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hamer's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Hamer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Joe Hamer has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Hamer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Furst to the mat! Furst manages to get full guard.
Furst keeping moving, preventing Hamer from controlling successfully.

Furst tries to clinch but Hamer is having none of it.
Richie Furst seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Furst moves out of range of the body kick.

Hamer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Furst napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hamer looks winded!
Furst is looking to escape.
Furst makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Furst.
Hamer wants to control from the top but Furst keeps moving.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hamer gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Hamer dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Hamer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Furst is looking to clinch.
Furst lands a leg kick that knocks Hamer off balance momentarily.
Hamer keeps the fight on the outside.
Furst tries to clinch but Hamer is having none of it.

Furst is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Hamer frees his head nicely. Oh but Furst has switched to an armbar! Hamer is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Our winner, Richie Furst, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
Joe Hamer was interviewed post fight and said 'i will train harder and come back stronger.'.
